The Ultimate Baby Box

Hello Everyone,

Today my post may not be applicable to everyone in the fashion land but more so for any expectant parents out there. I recently received the most wonderful gift from a company called The Baby Box an Irish company founded by James Fox and it is something that I think a lot of you parents to be out there might consider if you haven’t already heard of it.

In Finland all new parents receive a baby preparation package as a gift to ease the stress of preparing for a baby. These Baby Boxes are designed to keep your bundle of joy safe and sound as they sleep. They can easily be moved around and are incredibly versatile, featuring a bespoke lid that doubles up as a handy changing mat and the ability to be adapted and used as a storage box in future to keep your treasured baby memories in one place. Containing clothes, blankets, and other newborn necessities, and the Baby Box itself which is lined with a mattress which is used as the child’s first bed.

The baby box tradition originated in Finland in 1938, when the country began distributing boxes filled with newborn necessities to low-income expectant mothers. Finland extended the program to all families in 1949. The tradition continues to this day, and is credited with helping the Nordic nation reach one of the lowest infant mortality rates in the world.

Now when I received my box, upon opening it was the moment when I truly understood we were going to have a baby. Our box was filled with a selection of great quality products for your baby. This Luxurious gift includes the Custom Designed Baby Box packed with all of a Newborn’s Clothing Essentials as well as Muslin Swaddles, a Blanket & Soft Toy, a Healthcare Kit, a Hooded Towel and Bathrobe for bathing, Burt’s Bees Products and Changing Time.  This truly is the ultimate gift for any new parent and their baby! Not to mention that the Baby Box doubles as the child’s first crib or a convenient place for naps during the day.

James Fox, the founder of The Baby Box wants to give mothers and their children the best start in life: “At we believe that all children should be given an equal start in life, regardless of where they are born. That is why we have partnered with UNICEF to distribute 30 vaccinations for every Baby Box sold.” The goal is to bring the tradition of The Baby Box to families all around the World and to work in partnership with UNICEF to help ensure all children are given an equal start in life, irrespective of where they are born.

  1. I don’t have a baby, I do however, look after my friend’s little guy one day a week; and I must say that looks like a box full of greatness! That would come in very handy haha!

  2. This is so cute!!! I’m exciting about being a parent one day. I wish I could nudge my husband into letting signup to receive boxes like this, I just love new products honestly lol

  3. Wow – that is a comprehensive selection of baby products – what a nifty idea to distribute them round the world. It would be great if the organisation made a donation scheme similar to Tear fund where a card can be purchased for a mother to be in a more affluent country and the proceeds go towards a lady in need.

  4. I love this. I received one for free at the hospital I gave birth in. My little girl is now 4 months and still sleeps in it today. I prefer it much more than a Moses basket and she seems to love it also x
