Belfast Fashion Week

Hello Lovelies,

Happy Monday! How was your weekend?

West Coast Cooler Fashion Week returned recently for a sold-out, four-day fashion festival with an array of stylish events across Belfast.

Taking place at venues across the city, the busy schedule kicked off at Life Church with the return of the sell-out designer and high street runway shows alongside popular fashion fringe events Sushi Saturday at Asian favourite Zen, as well as Style Sunday – which, this season, was held at Coco on Mother’s Day for the perfect day out for any mum interested in fashion, beauty and feeling good. Budding new events included the stylish Lavazza Coffee Style Saturday brunch at Robinson & Cleaver which  offered the ultimate fashion filter showcasing key looks from across the fashion spectrum selected by some of the country’s top stylists, namely Courtney Smith and Cool FM’s Rebecca McKinney as well as London-based Jamie Russell and Lewis Cameron.

I had the pleasure of attending WCCFW at a new home of Belfast Cathedral, where all the guests witnessed some show stopping pieces from FASHIONWEEK favourites Blush Boutique, Grainne Maher, Jourdan, Cameo, and Akani as well as eye-catching ensembles from newcomers Bambino Children’s Wear, Angela Sloan, William Morris Eyewear, In_Chlomo and Ruby 67 Boutique.

Trends ranged from futuristic metallics, to texture clashes in fiery reds, bold burgundies and muted mustards. Feminine frills and ruffles were everywhere, giving a super feminine silhouette. In stark contrast, lavish leathers and PVC trenches also appeared in a massive range of colours, whilst a traditional heritage trend also took over collections with checks and cosy knitwear completing the look.

I wanted to give you a little insight into what I wore to the event which was a little different to what I am used to wearing. Recently, I have started shopping on a website called Shein and have found some serious gems on my quest to find some new outfits. This pink floral print dress being one of them. I love the colours and the length of the dress which is perfect for any dressy occasion whether it be a wedding, gala or ball, its ticks all the right boxes. Paired with these pink strappy heels from Primark and voila I was ready to hit Fashionweek.
