Good Morning Lovelies,
If you have been on social media recently, you have probably seen the multitude of video showing people using the peel black charcoal masks from their skin. The painful process promises instant blackhead removal – but like many fads, I decided that I wanted to check out myself to see if all is what it seems. So I choose to use Black Coco which is locally based in Dublin with an aim to gift you with beautiful clean, rejuvenated and revitalised skin!
Charcoal is a brilliant detoxifier. It draws out impurities and locks down toxins so it’s a hard working ingredient in a facial cleansing product. It is also used to remove stains from teeth, to reduce bloating in the digestive system and it is used in water filters to purify water, so you can see why people have got a little excited about the potential of this mask.
How To Use:
Firstly you need to wash your face with warm water to open the pores and to ensure that face is clean prior to your facial.
I used a new foundation brush that I picked up in Penneys as it makes the application of the mask so much easier as opposed to using your hands but if you don’t have a brush your hands are fine.
Apply a liberal amount of the liquid in an even layer, avoiding the eyebrows, lips and sensitive eye area.
Once fully dried, I left it dry in for about 30 mins and then gently removed the mask from the bottom of your face upwards.
Then wash your face with cold water to remove any residue and to help close the pores.
I would also recommend that if you’re going to use these masks, have an ice cube to hand to rub over the skin to help the pores tighten. Avoid hot water and cleanse the skin gently to remove any remaining mask.
With their charcoal based products, you can be assured that you’re getting natural ingredients, vegan friendly products which aren’t tested on animals – plus it’s suitable for all skin types.
