The Importance Of Mothers Day

Hello Lovelies,

How are we all doing on this gorgeous Sunday afternoon? Happy Mother’s Day to all you fabulous ladies out there on this special day! While appreciation for any parent should be every day of the year, I love that we have this day to extra appreciate moms on this special day. I had no idea how hard (yet amazing) motherhood would be until I got there. So my love and respect for my own mom (and anyone out there who has ever raised a child) grows more and more every day.

I love that we set aside a whole day to honor and celebrate the women who raised us. My mom was an amazing mother who dedicated her life to her three children. She was selfless yet strong- and the most beautiful woman I know. Mother’s Day holds a special place in my own heart because of my little fairy who has made me a mom.

My Mother’s Day experiences have run the gamut. When I was young and single, Mother’s Day was easy: the focus was still on my own mom. We would get together as a family to celebrate the holiday and now that it is my turn it’s something we are still trying to get used and are still finding our way in terms of creating our own little tradition to celebrate the day. As long as I am with my little family on the day I don’t think it really matters what you decide to get up to as long as it is together.

I hope you feel so loved and celebrated this Mother’s Day. And no matter what season you find yourself in, just know that you are doing enough, and you are loved and appreciated. Take a few moments today to look around and appreciate your children and the stage they’re in. I know for me, the thought of May growing up and moving off makes me want to burst into tears! So this Mother’s Day I plan to milk it for all it’s worth, and squeeze her just a little longer.

Happy Mother’s Day to my very own amazing mom and to all of you mamas out there!

Love,

Glam Meets Girl x
