Happy Thursday to you all….one step closer to this three day weekend! Happy Days! Have you any nice places for St. Patrick’s Day? It is hard to know what to do now that we have the extra day to play with. I have a party on Friday which I am so excited about although my dress still hasn’t arrived yet so here is hoping it arrives today or I am in trouble and then the parade on Saturday and maybe dinner on Sunday, I will see how energetic I feel after Friday.
Now if you were following me on IG (GlamMeetsGirl) you will know that I was in Kilkenny last weekend for a hen party. My beautiful sister in law is getting married in a couple of weeks so we gathered her nearest and dearest to celebrate her last hurrah before the big day. We held it in Blanchville House which feels like you’ve just stepped into a Jane Austen novel. From the minute we drove through the gates we were blown away by the property. It is in pristine condition and you can tell that a lot of love and care is put in to it’s upkeep. The dining room is beautiful and the drawing room is the perfect place to relax in front of the warm, cosy fire. The bedrooms are beautiful as well – and decorated so tastefully. It was the perfect setting as wanted the best of both worlds, a little peace and quiet in the countryside yet not too far from the bustle of Kilkenny, this is it!
We opted for an elegant ‘Downton’ style event with afternoon tea served in the elegant dining room and later that night held a pj/slumber party in the delightful drawing room. As we had 20 people attending we rented the main house and the coach house. We were delighted with it all. The house is truly fabulous, all the bedrooms were gorgeous and we had full use of the whole house. We did our own afternoon tea in the main dining room which was the perfect setting. The drawing room was stunning and perfect for playing some bridal games once we got back from Kilkenny that night. We also opted to do the Cube in a room near the coach house and it was ideal for this. It was a very wet day so the fact that this wasn’t to far from the main house meant nobody had to walk to far. Also we left the dining room in a bit of a mess after the afternoon tea but when we got home after our night out it was all cleaned up perfectly and set up for breakfast the next morning.
This place is a hidden treasure and one that I can’t wait to get back to. If you are looking for somewhere to go for a girlie weekend or a hen party well then look no more! You really couldn’t ask for a better venue than Blanchville House.
As Always Love,
